JUNE 2007 Scarlett was rescued as a result of many caring individuals pulling together and raising the funds to save several pregnant mares and mares with newborn foals from a slaughterhouse feedlot in Texas. Angel Horse Rescue drove to Lubbock, TX and picked up two of these mares along with their foals and brought them to the rescue. Scarlett has some large scars from several old injuries, however she is otherwise healthy and appears sound. She is friendly and gentle and did not object to a halter although she seemed a little rusty on her leading skills.
AUGUST 2007 Scarlett has settled in and loves attention. She allowed a saddle pad to be thrown across her back and did not seem to mind at all. We will continue Scarlett's training evaluation once her colt has been weaned. Once we have fully evaluated her level of training, Scarlett will be available for adoption to an approved home only.
OCTOBER 2008 Scarlett has been adopted along with Faith to a wonderful new home on 165 acres.
