March 2006: Faith arrived at the rescue very underweight, wormy and sick. Her thick winter coat was coarse and unhealthy and hides the extent of her condition. According to her Coggins papers she had already been through 2 auctions just during the month of March. She has an old injury to her left eye which has caused a blue cloud over a portion of her eyeball, however she does have sight in that eye. We have wormed her and given her antibiotics to help her overcome the infection which is causing thick discharge from her eyes and nose as well as a dry cough. She does not appear to have had any previous handling, so once she is settled in and recovering well, we will begin halter and ground training. We received Hope, another young filly, at the same time as Faith and they are spending their quarantine together and have become fast friends.
June 2006: We have done a preliminary evaluation of Faith's level of training. She is shy and difficult to catch, however she is level headed and she is beginning to give to the pressure of the halter and allow herself to be led with patient encouragement. She is recovering well and blossoming. She will be available for adoption soon to an approved home that will be able to continue her gentle training.
September 2006: Faith has gained a healthy weight and is a nice, stocky young filly. She is now available to an approved adopter with the patience and experience to train her for a new life.
July 2007 Faith has been transferred
to our new 64 acre facility and is enjoying the freedom of wide open
pastures.
March 2008 Faith is available for adoption to a home with training experience or the ability to provide professional training for Faith. We will begin training Faith under saddle a little later this spring once she is 3 years old.
October 2008 Faith has been adopted along with Scarlett and is going to a wonderful new home on 165 acres. Faith will soon begin her training as a pleasure/trail riding horse.
