APRIL 2009  Doc arrived at the rescue as an owner surrender.  His previous owner could no longer provide a home for Doc and wanted to be sure he found a safe, loving home.  Doc is a beautiful palomino gelding.  He is approximately 8 years old with no physical limitations, however he has not been broke to ride.  He is halter broke and appears gentle, but we will allow him to settle in before evaluating his training potential.   He appears in good health, although his hooves are badly in need of a trim.  Once our farrier has taken care of his feet, we will work with Doc to determine his level of training and disposition.

MAY 2009  Doc has been living the good life out in the big grazing pasture and steadily gaining weight.  He had a good time playing in the mud after the spring rains and has been enjoying roaming the wide open field.  He was a favorite with the kids of the local 4H club when they came out to visit with the horses and seemed to enjoy all the attention.

JUNE 2009  We have had Doc's feet trimmed and he behaved well for the farrier.  He is now quite chubby and needs a job to turn that flab into muscle!  He is a gorgeous boy - happy, healthy and ready for his new forever home!

JULY 2009  We are going to be checking into sending Doc out to a professional trainer this fall to get him trained for riding.  We'll keep you updated on his progress!

AUGUST 2009  Doc has been adopted!!  He has an absolutely wonderful new home and will be spending his time hanging out with three other horses - all palominos. His adopters are experienced, caring horse people and we are thrilled that Doc has found his perfect new home.
