    ADOPTION PROCEDURE:
Upon receipt of adoption application, the directors of AHR will review the application and contact the references provided. If approved, an inspection of the prospective adoptive property will be scheduled. If the adopted equine will be boarded, AHR will contact the boarding facility and conduct an inspection. If the adoption application is approved and the facility inspection is satisfactory, the prospective adopter will be notified by AHR of their approval. At this time, the approved adopter can select an available equine and make an appointment to meet and interact with the chosen horse. AHR evaluates each horse as best as possible and discloses all known limitations, etc., however we cannot guarantee the suitability of any horse for your particular purpose or event. AHR highly recommends that you have your equine veterinarian and/or trainer evaluate the horse for your specific purpose. Upon receipt of a signed adoption contract and payment of the adoption fee, the horse may be taken by the adopter to the approved facilities. Prior to being available for adoption, the horse will have a current negative Coggins test and be at a healthy weight. The horse will have a minimum of being halter trained and basic ground manners, unless otherwise noted. All intact males will be gelded.

NOTE: AHR remains the legal owner of the horse for a period of one year from the initial adoption date. During this time AHR may conduct inspections to assure that the adopted equine is receiving proper care and treatment. See adoption contract for details.
