          Angel Horse Rescue, Inc. is a non profit organization located in Northeast Oklahoma dedicated to providing rescue, rehabilitation and adoption services for abused, neglected and abandoned equines as well as horses at risk of slaughter for human consumption overseas.  We are a 100% volunteer run organization and all funds go directly for the benefit, care and feeding of the horses and all donations are tax deductible to the donor.  Please feel free to browse our website, read the horse's stories and follow their progress.  If you would like to sign up to receive our quarterly newsletter in the mail, email your name and address to angelhorserescue@yahoo.com and we'll be sure to include you on our mailing list.

    The vast majority of the horses that arrive at the rescue are in need of immediate veterinary care.  One of our largest expenses here at the rescue is the cost of medical treatment and medications required by incoming horses that have injuries and were denied basic vet care by their previous owners.  Many are also physically suffering from prolonged neglect and the affects of starvation and malnutrition.  In addition, we currently have 3 stud colts that need gelding in the very near future including one that will require a special gelding surgery.  We also have some recent arrivals that require extensive dental work as soon as they are healthy enough to handle sedation.  This is in addition to the basic hoof care, vaccinations and other regular health care provided to all our residents that is necessary for their well being.  We appreciate each and every donation, no amount is too small.  Every single $1 counts, and added together, they can and do make all the difference in the world to these horses.

PROGRESS IN 2009:  During this year, thanks to the generosity of numerous individuals, the ASPCA and Thoroughbred Charities of America, we have been able to add permanent ICU and Quarantine Corrals adjacent to our barn as well as a loafing shed/shelter in one of our pastures.  Our future projects include installing thousands of feet of permanent fencing to create additional pastures along with shelters to allow us to safely provide for a larger number of rescue horses.  With your help, we can meet our goals and be able to make a difference in the lives of many more needy horses.
